Meadow Creek Community Center:

With the help of a grant from the Institute for Museum and Library Services, the Franklin County Library System, the Franklin County Housing Authority, Americorps PennVision, and the Boys and Girls Club, a wide variety of books is now being purchased for the community Center.

Now in Meadow Creek, the community center will remain open to all residents of Meadow Creek on Monday and Wednesdays of every week from 4 pm - 6 pm and to the the children of the Boys and Girls Club daily.  Children and adults will have the convenience of checking out books from this new collection.

The new collection of books at the Community Center will contain:

  • Homework helping books
  • Scary story books
  • Mysteries
  • Books about other kids in school
  • Sports stories
  • Jokes/riddles
  • Books about science and space
  • Computer books
  • Books about other countries
  • History books
  • Books about cooking and art
  • Nature and animal books
  • and many more ...

By purchasing books the children want to read, the library is hoping to spark an interest in making reading a fun activity and not just a thing to do for school.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend these library hours with their children.  Parents/guardians will also be able to check books our for themselves.  There are currently adult fiction and non-fiction books in the community center and by request, we can get you books from any other library in the Franklin County Library System.
