 Book 'N Bake Sale, by the Friends of Grove Library  ~ Thank You to the 'Friends' and others who helped set up books, bake delicious goodies and manned the tables for the Book 'N Bake Sale.  It was the best year ever!   ~ Grove Staff

Grover's Den First Wednesday events:

Grove will continue to hold a First Wednesday event for our seniors, every month, at 2 p.m.   June 5, Getting Your Affairs in Order, and Alzheimer's Care Options, by the Visiting Angels. What important papers, legal and financial, should you keep? How can you prepare for your legacy?   (No Class July 3rd) 

Our senior center project has been partially funded with federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds, administered by the Office of Commonwealth Libraries.

Bone Strengthening & Muscle Building Classes.  Every Monday & Wednesday 1 - 2 pm June, July & August ~ Except for June 5th & August 7th. A great program to encourage seniors to exercise to keep flexibility and strength.  Come Prepared for a great workout! You may bring light weights if you have them.

 

"On a Starry Night", a Cabaret performance with John Brink ; Elisabeth Turchi ~ Guest Soloist ; Tim Gotwald ; Brian Helman ; Mike Jackson ~ Benefit for Grove Family and Coyle Free Libraries, Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1, 7:30 p.m.  Doors open @ 6:30.  Heavy hors d'oeuvres, desserts and a cash bar, at the VFW Post 1599, in Chambersburg. Cost is $35 per ticket or $250 for a table of eight. Tickets are on sale at the Coyle & Grove Libraries.

Teen Movie Night ~ Friday, May 24th, 7 - 10 pm.   Come see "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey", (2012)  Snacks & drinks provided.  Come Join the Fun!

Look for our Summer Reading Program to begin in June. Dig into Reading is this year's theme.  We have programs for Adults, Teens and Children.  Did you know your participation also assists Grove Family Library?   Prizes, Prizes, and more Prizes available!   2 Kindles will be given away!! To one lucky adult and one lucky teen reader!  Sign-ups begin June 3rd. 

Monday, June 10th ~ Thirty-One Gifts Party!  6 pm.  Proceeds benefit Grove Family Library. Raffle prize, Gifts and more!  Hope to see you here!

Kindly Canines READS Program (Reading Assistance Dogs for Students) program runs the first Tuesday of the month, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.  Open to all children, new and experienced readers. We have big dogs, little dogs, all waiting to share a book with you.  Great Dane SoCo is always ready to curl up with a reader... all our dogs love to greet new and returning children. Please sign up in the lobby. May's program will be the last for the summer break, the program will resume on September 3, the day after Labor Day.

Card Class, by Billy Morningstar, the first Monday of the month, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.  Learn new techniques to produce unique greeting cards.  Please bring basic supplies (scissors, rulers, pencil, etc.). Materials will be provided. Please sign up in the lobby. May's program will be the last for the summer break, and the program will resume in September.

Computer Classes, (May 28th this month ~ Tuesday) the last Monday of the Month, every month.  We have laptops available, or you can bring your own device, get individual help and instruction for whatever you want to do. Please sign up in the lobby. 

Franklin County Art Alliance meets the second Wednesday of April and May, 7 - 9 p.m. FCAA supports local and aspiring artists with demonstrations, critique classes, exhibition opportunities and networking.  Open to the public, and new members are always welcome. Program will resume in September.
