This book has even surpassed its coinciding book “The Hunger Games.” I would give it a 10 ½ stars out of 5. This shows how good the book is. Now it is time for me to give you a summary:

Now Katniss and Peeta are chucked back into the arena against opponents from the years past. Some are even so fierce that they bit into the neck of their opponents. Will Peeta and Katniss stop the rebellions in the districts? Will the districts go up like District 13 did? Will Katniss's wedding go off without a hitch or will Katniss stop the wedding and pronounce her love for her best friend Gale? You’ll have to read it to find out.

Young Charlie Bone and his best friend Benjamin, just after tea, were coming home to his family. Charlie had a strange family. The people who lived with him are his mom Amy, his uncle Paton, his grandma Maisie and his other grandma, Grandma Bone.  Charlie came to his house to find Grandma Bone and Maisie arguing at the front porch. Charlie and Benjamin had just come home from school. Benjamin went to apartment #12 while Charlie went to #9.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians

Book One : The Lightning Thief

By: Logan Kennedy

If I could give this story a rating it would get a 4 ½ out of 5 stars. This book is very well organized. Anyone who likes history, adventure or stories with fighting in them would love this book. Let me give you summary of the book:

Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is attending Yancy Academy. They are going on a field trip to the Smithsonian. The school bully Nancy Bobofit is picking on Percy and his best friend Grover Underwood. She is throwing pieces of peanut butter and Ketchup sandwiches on him. When they make it to the Smithsonian, they go to the Roman and Greek exhibits. Mr. Bruner the Latin teacher was teaching the class about Kronos the Titan god and about the Trojan War (The Trojan War was a war between the Titans and the Gods). Nancy Bobofit starts to talk about Percy and Grover. Mr. Bruner yells at Nancy and tells her to be quiet. For some reason Mr. Bruner is the only teacher to catch her doing anything wrong? Finally it is lunch time. Percy and Grover sit as far away from everyone as possible because they were feeding the pigeons and they didn’t think it was cool. Nancy came over and dumped her lunch in Grover’s lap. Percy got mad, but just then, something happened. The kids were muttering “Did you see that. The water just grabbed her or something.” Percy didn’t care what they were saying. Just then Ms. Dodds the math teacher came over and said she would buy Nancy a new shirt because hers was wet. Ms. Dodds told Percy to come in with her. Mr. Bruner followed them in. They went back to the Greek and Roman exhibits. Suddenly Ms. Dodds transformed. She had leathery wings, a beak, and claws and talons. She swooped down at Percy. Mr. Bruner threw a pen at Percy and told him to uncap it. He did and out came a three foot long sword. The sword was called Anaklusmos or as we know it Riptide. He sliced up and when he did it he sliced Ms. Dodds. She turned in to a yellow dust and floated away in the wind. Then Percy collapsed. When he woke he found that there was no Ms. Dodds. There was another teacher there. Apparently there was no Ms. Dodds. He questioned Grover about Ms. Dodds. He paused and said he had no clue what he was talking about. One day he walked down to Mr. Bruner’s room. He heard Grover and him talking. Grover said “I’m really worried about Percy Mr. Bruner. I’m telling him there is no Ms. Dodds but he still suspects there was. What if he finds out the truth?” Mr. Bruner said “Shhhhh! I think I hear someone.” Percy hid in a closet. He thought he heard Horse hooves as Mr. Bruner came out of the room. The next day Percy left Yancy Academy. He was headed home. Grover and Percy were on the same train. Grover said “You have to stay with me.” Percy said “Why?” Grover said “PROMISE YOU WILL STAY WITH ME!” Percy agreed. They got off at a train station. They looked out and got on a bus. When the bus stopped, they saw 3 old ladies at a fruit stand. They had a huge pair of socks. Two ladies got the ends of the string and the other one got a big pair of gold scissors. She cut it. Percy heard that snip 4 lanes of traffic over. Grover stopped at a bathroom and said he had to go. Percy was sup post to wait. But, he ditched Grover. He went back to his mom’s apartment at Manhattan. Her husband Gabe Ugliano was home. All he does is play poker with his friends. Gabe made Percy give him all his money. Percy went back to his room. Just then he heard his mom’s voice. “Gabe is Percy home yet?” Gabe said he was in his bedroom.  Percy’s real dad went out to sea and was never heard from. His mom came back from work and she said they were going to Montauk Beach for the weekend. They got packed and left. When they got there they walked on the beach and ate blue jelly beans. They were just ready to go to bed when something was pounding on the door. It was Grover. His mom knew him. On the ride there, Sally (Percy’s mom) said she was going to send Percy to a school where they might not ever see each other again. Percy didn’t like this. Grover was bleeding when he came in. He said that Sally needs to get Percy to Camp Half-Blood. Camp Half-Blood is the camp Sally was talking about sending Percy too. They were almost there when something appeared. It was a big bull. Sally told them to run for the camp. The bull got Sally. But she just vanished. Grover was injured. Percy rolled to avoid the bull. He jumped on top of the bull and ripped off its horn. It turned to dust like Ms. Dodds. They went to the camp and he collapsed on the porch. When he woke he found that there was a girl standing next to him. Her name was Annabeth. Grover was Ok. They went down to the porch and Grover told him that some faces there would look familiar. To Percy’s surprise Mr. Bruner the Latin teacher was sitting there. There was also a guy with a big red nose and curly black hair. His name was Mr. D. Mr. Bruner told Percy that the gods of Greece were still alive today. They move with western civilization. Percy was a demi god.  They are part god part human. Percy needed to find out who his godly parent was. Mr. D was the god of wine Dionysus. Mr. Bruner was a centaur called Chiron. He was a white stallion from the waist down and a man from the waist up.  He took Percy around camp and showed him everything. They had a strawberry field, volleyball pit, lava mountain climbing, archery range, swords arena, and an ampatheater. The girl he met earlier, Annabeth was the daughter of Athena. Athena was the goddess of wisdom. Percy was put in the Hermes cabin. Hermes is the god of messages and travelers. Everyone who didn’t know who their godly parent was was put there. The head of the Hermes cabin Luke was nice. Soon it was dinner. They filled out to dinner. He had to make an offering to the gods. Then he went to bed. The next evening they ate dinner again. Then they played capture the flag. That day Clarisse the head of the Ares cabin tried to put Percy’s head in the toilet. Just then the water came out of the toilet and soaked Clarisse and the other Ares cabin members. Ares was the god of war by the way. Percy used a sword and shield during capture the flag. He broke Clarisse’s electric spear. She left marks on him. He stepped into the water and suddenly he healed. Then a Hellhound was summoned to camp. It attacked Percy. Percy killed it. Chiron announced that Percy was the son of Poseidon.  Poseidon was the god of the sea. Percy finds out that Zeus, the god of the sky, is missing his master lightning bolt. He blames Poseidon and now they are on the brink of war. Percy gets a quest along with Grover and Annabeth to find this master bolt.

We are half was through the story and I’m not going to tell you the ending if you want to know you need to read the book.
